    Bit of an upset for anti 4x4 lentilists then. It appear's it will only affect new cars sold from today! Looks like we might have to cough up another fiver- GOOD VALUE I SAY!

        What a load of Sh**e,

        If this goverment gave a flying f**k about the environment then Petrol cars would be running on Ethanol (refined from sugar beat and zero emissions) and diesel cars would run on vegoil from oil seed rape etc. They get far too much tax from fuel so they are never ever going to promote the use of alternative fuels.

        Rant over.

        P.S

        I will simply re-coup my losses on road tax by running on crisp n dry throughout the summer or costco's finest !

                Good point. But I think you will find that it will be when the vehicle was first registered. As mine was registered when new in Japan, it has already been registered.

                I only had it imported in August last year, so if that's not the case, I'm fu**ed.

                  I have just called DVLA. My K Reg 2.4 will go up £5 to £175. I will continue with my driving undeterred.
