roof bars

Hey peeps,

wondered if i could get a few opinions on roof bars. cant get what i need here in spain so need to order some on tinterweb. have 93 2.4 surf and roof is bare, no runners etc. stainless steel would be good and dont need to put massive weight on, just long items really.
any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. thanx

I think you will find that Thule do bars that go across the 2nd Gen, attaching firmly on the guttering.

What do you need? If you're here in Spain there's a national brand that makes ones like the Thules, it's name is Cruz.

checked out the link david and they look like they`ll do the job fine.
tried 4 different auto accessory shops here in the costa del sol today but had no luck. they sold all different brands including thule but they all looked at my surf and said they could not help. my spanish is still very limited so could not really get much advice or information from any of them. would you possibly know anywhere in the estapona area where i could find the cruz items or any spanish website where they may be able to help in english? thanks again mate

In the website there's a shop in Marbella who deals with Cruz. It's only 35km far from Estepona.

Wait, I've found a Cecauto parts shop in Estepona, they trade Cruz products.

ha ha was just writing down the details of the marbella shop and the part number of the bars. will get a friend who speaks spanish to ring the estepona shop in the morning and see if they can get me one and how much they are.

If you have no luck locally and want thule u will need:-

Roof bars no 761 standard or 861 aero bars
Foot pack no 750
Fixing kit no 1085
Lock (optional) no 544
