Hi everyone

I got my 2nd gen surf two weeks ago, i am loving the beast! But i have no handbook and i have to confess, am ignorant! Please can anyone tell me what kind of pressure the tyres should be inflated to? My fronts are looking a little soft...

there a sticker on the drivers door post which gives the tyre pressure in metric

Don't know the conversion but 2.0 bar is about 30 psi

My tyres are 265 70 15 on a second gen and I run mine at 33. Book says 28 but they wear badly at that and it drives like a truck. At 33 I get better grip, wear, handling and I don't need quite such big muscles to turn the wheel.

Its down to personal preference, yes recommended is about 30psi, I found my BFG AT's squealed like pigs at that pressure and were a bit soft, getting slight wear on the outsides of the tyres.
I ran mine at 33psi, no squealing and it stopped the outside edge wearing as well.
Depending on what tyres you run, I now have BFG MT's on and have tried pressures from 28-36psi and again settled on 33psi as a good comprimise. So try different pressures and you will feel the difference in the ride, handling and noise of the tyres.
I think from this question in the past most that answered ran about 33psi in theirs as well.

Yes... I had terrible squealing tyres. Everyone stares when turning corners, especially on supermarket car parks which gets embarrasing after a while. Tried 33psi as suggested an they hardly squeal at all now.

33 PSI here too. Slight wear on outside shoulders. Guess I chuck it round corners far too fast

I run the 'official' 29 psi / 2 BAR (it's usually only me in the truck with no load) and have never had a problem with squealing or wear. I currently use Yokohama Geolandar A/T tyres. They are 265/70R16 - the standard 3rd gen size. Those tyres were on the truck when I got it and i have just had them replaced with the same. If you often carry a load in the back, then I would consider increasing the rears to anywhere between 30 - 35 psi (from experience with a couple of Ford Explorers we had in the Caribbean and my Surf in the UK).
33 sounds reasonable to me though.
