Oh and Toyney why is it you cant house train Chihuaha's there like a tom cat, have to scent everything you put down. Everyone i know with one has the same problem, including us.

no, mines had his pockets pinched and doesnt do any scent marking except when hes pleased to see you!!! LOL leaves a funny zig zag pattern on the tiles as he legs it to the door
actually, tella lie there, he did scent mark my friend ( on her lap ) but there was extenuating circumstances as our psycho cat had fed him my contraceptive pill.. theres a story to that...
anyway, he also peed on the same friends sofa... and her duvet... i think theres something about her because hes never done that with anyone else ever.
      she's no angel

When I look after the nieces dog I can leave the back door open but the first thing he'll do is mark the house by peeing on the long curtains.

          The hassle of washing em..

This is my lot. The cockers used to be off at any smell in the woods, bought a radio control collar that puffs air under the chin when the button is pressed, just breaks their attention enough to get them to listen to you. Very expensive but well worth it, hardly have to use it now.

BEAGLE is a good sniffer dog with no road sense whatsoever i think a BALL & CHAIN is the best option for mine.

What a beautiful boy! Hope you have lots of fun with him and if not then there's enough of us dog owners on here to give you hints and training tips!
Have you got him booked in for any training classes and socialisation?

When we first got one of our Doberman pups, she would whine all night until I had to go downstairs and sleep on the couch with my arm or hand touching her. As long as my arm was touching her, she slept. Only had to do it for two nights, then she was o.k.

Another way is to play with him to get him so tired that he just collapses and sleeps.
