Veg Oil/ Norfolk HELP!

Broadland Fuels in Martham used to supply me with my 100% veg Oil, but for some insane reason they have decided to stop selling it !, new management apparently. Does anyone know where I can get hold of some locally?

buying form broadland fuels means that tax will have been paid for, whereas dumping veg oil in from the supermarket will result in a heave fine if you are stopped and your tank dipped.

ok, how does anyone know if you have bought the oil from a garage or stuck it in from a supermarket,,,, then how do they know you dont pay tax separately?
if you get stopped and they say you are using veg oil... how can they be sure that you have or havent paid tax. pink diesel its easy.. but oil... i mean, really, how can they tell?
you just tell them i pay tax seperately.. they cant check that kind of thing easily by the side of the road. gives you time to go home and sort something out surely?

The thing is - by the time you get home and write to the HMCE to be registered as a user/producer, the time taken for them to send you the relevent paper work, then for you to complete and return it, then another two weeks for them to register you and return your certificate, - a good few weeks will have passed. the date you became registered will be a month after you were pulled. so you will still get fined/car impounded/imprisoned/gang raped etc etc all at her majesties pleasure.
I'm registered as a fuel producer and declare ALL that I use every month. I send them a cheque the month after remembering how much i used the month before.
I also keep a copy of my registration certificate in the car - just in case I get pulled.

Get stopped and dipped.

"Oh ho, you are using vegetable oil - you're nicked, my girl"

"Oh no, ossifer, I pay my tax to Her Majesty's Right C##ts separately"

"All right then, show us the paperwork within a week"

Toyney goes way and hurriedly puts through an application to HMRC and miraculously gets registered by return of post.

Sends cheque off with first month's declaration, then takes paperwork to show friendly policeman.

"Here is all my paperwork, ossifer, to prove I am paying tax separately"

"Oh ho, look at the date on this application - let's just ask HMRC when you were registered" (makes phone call).

"Your application was done after you were stopped and dipped - you're f###in' nicked..."

Now, if you are already registered, and have been declaring your veg oil use and paying the tax to Her Majesty's Right C##ts, then you are in the clear.

And of course, being a scrupulously honest, upright citizen, and enthusiastic contributor to Gordon Brown's "Subsidise my economic mistakes" fund, you HAVE declared ALL your veg oil use, haven't you?

so the sensible answer is.. register first even if not currently using oil or planning to use it for a while...
pay a nominal amount (i dont do many miles, i dont use my car in the week)
every now and again.. then if you do get pulled.. you have all the paperwork and all is ok?

i presume if you use oil while driving in france or spain you dont have to bother declaring that...

I believe our enlightened continental cousins have a zero tax rate on veg oil, but I would check!

Sorry Matt, I thought you were 'avin a laugh Fairplay to you if you have the inclination to make it yourself but I really can't be a**ed, and I've had enough of filling out forms, this being tax time and all.
Curiously enough there was a prog on radio 4 just now about Texans getting into Bio Diesel in a big way!, proper filling stations and everything!
I can't believe we are being left behind in this!

Lindgreat, Harfrey's Industrial Estate Great Yarmouth, currently 75ppl all duties paid (And a receipt to show the good C&E). I fill the car and three other 25l containers everytime I go there. They run out sometimes as they cannot find enough raw material to work with. Haven't put any diesel in my 3.0 for about 15 months now.
