Your expert advice would be most appreciated.

I've just discovered this:

Hilux surf SSR-X, 2.4 TD, 91, Black. 117,000 miles on the clock.
Apparently head is fine....(but he would say that)
Sold as seen, no warrrenty, split rim alloys, rear spolier, electic sunroof, immobilser, privacy glass.

I think that is a reasonable price for what you are getting. The warranty isnt that bigger deal providing it checks out ok. I would definately go for it especially as its black

Nice truck, price seems reasonable, if you're worried about warrenty get RAC or similar to check it over or buy your own warrenty off the net

thanks for advice....i think its a good deal...however does anyone think i might get a better deal on something slighty newer...92,93 etc...or is not going to make much diffence...?

also... is there a particular year/model of 2.4 that had head problems?

How much you paying? says you get a 12 Month Warranty.

IMHO I wouldn't touch a 2.4 unless its had the head done, that's my opinion before all you with heads years old start posting. Reason, spend a bit extra get a 3ltr. If the head goes and that might be a big if, its going to cost a min of £1500 or worse like mine £3000 with new engine.

But I'm not bitter.

Saw a K plate in Bexhill for £1600 other day seems to be plenty to chose from as long as you like blue.

I have a 93 2.4 on a K plate paid 2600 and its a minter! No problem with the head and its got all the bits ETC.Lots of paranoia re the heads, do what i did take a mechanic who knows his stuff ask the dealer as there are some dodgy heads out there would he have it pressure tested and then if thats ok and your mechanic is happy GO FOR IT MATEY as it sounds a good deal.

not 100% sure but that emblem on the bonnet. Either its another truck with the emblem or it was someones off here. I seem to remember a post on here or the old forum with someone having the same thing????????????????
