Reconnected Air Intake Pipe

I disconnected the air intake pipe at the air filter, at Brick Kiln Farm, last November (poor mans snorkel). I drove the truck to and from work three days last week. It was noisy and accelleration was poo to say the least. The intake pipe is connected up properly again and the truck is going much better. You wouldn't think it would make that much difference.

Might just be the difference in intake air temperature, particularly in this weather. Could also be a slight restriction in breathing under the bonnet. I know that taking my skid plate off makes the engine run warmer by a few degrees so there are some funny air flow things going on under there.
