  • Raised breathers

    Has any one fitted raised breathers for the diffs on there surf. Are they an off the shelf item ( if so where from ). or does anyone have info of how to construct them on a budget??????????????

    no I havent yet but its on my list of to do jobs - hopefully some top notch hosepipe will do the job!

    finally sorted my dodgy towbar wiring and fixed 3 sockets to rear bumper of the Surf to stop me ripping them off and water/mud getting in!

      If you pull the cap off the original fitting, there is enough of a nipple left to get a hose over and jubilee clip it on.

          I would like to see a SURF with an outside breather pipe on it..??

            There is a thread where you can buy threaded tubes from toyota that fir where the existing diff breathers go. Then you pipe from the diff to the engine bay and cap of the pipe with the original diff cap........works well

              You won't see much, you just run the hose from the diff up to somewhere higher under the wheel arch or up the bulkhead. Put a small filter on the end or just a loop in the end to keep water out.

                    they're the bits i've got, part number ties up with a corolla i think. got 2 in my glove box waiting to go on! got the number from an article in "petersens off road & 4wheeldrive"
