i used to operate heavy construction plant (quarry dumptrucks etc.) and you would be suprised the amount of guys on a friday afternoon who would come flying up to the parking area and just shut down motor while still spooled up. (ouch)
i would say on a surf, 1min, maybe 2, is ample
    HTH......

P.S.. spooled up = turbo still spinning

i leave mine at a minute, just to let the turbo slow down, its an oil cooled turbo in your smurf so make sure its not going full chat before you turn the engine.. and the oil pump off.

also with an oil cooled turbo oil changes on schedule are critical!!

I set mine for one minute if just driving locally... longer runs I set it for two minutes.

i use mine so the heater stays warm while i'm in the shop!as long as you don't turn off immediately after you've been ragging it/ pulling a big weight then you shouldn't gat any problems...
