  • Holy Island causeway pic

Hi surfers. Recently had the bright idea of taking a bit of video and pics of the tide coming in and flooding the Holy island causeway as it does twice each day. thought the surf would make a nice addition to the pic and the added adrenaline rush (you do not want it to break down during the taking of this pic believe me) is great.

Notice wifey sat in the truck hoping I do not get swept away so that she would have to drive it out herself.

It got much deeper, very quickly but I had to get back to the truk and drive her out before my boots filled up with sea water. I did go find some mucky fresh water puddles right after this shoot to wash the salt water off.

would certainly be one hell of a watersplash. The hut you see on stilts in the pic is a refuge for those that missjudge the depth. It gets to about 6 feet above the road surface in the area around the hut.

Excellent photo there. It looks oh so calm, but knowing what tides can be like, very dangerous! A friend and I nearly killed ourselves many, many years ago whilst in Jersey by not paying attention to the tides!
