  • Macmillan 4x4 challenge 2006

As some of you know Rick(vagrant No2) and I took part in this challenge in 2005 and had such a good time and managed to raise about £1500 for the Macmillan cancer trust we decided to enter for 2006. The total the event raised was over £55,000.

This event is being held over the weekend of 10th-12th March and starts in Hereford. We then have to navigate our way over about 1000 miles with off road sections thrown in. There is more info here www.mac4x4.co.uk

We would like your support to help us beat last years £1500.
If your company would like to sponsor us their web address will be put on the truck and on our website - www.the-vagrants.co.uk

If you wish to sponsor us you can donate on line here www.justgiving.com/thevagrants

Please remember that every pound counts and it all goes to a very worthy cause.

Rick and I would like to make it clear that all sponsorship we get goes to Macmillan as we pay for all the fuel, entrance fees and accommodation before the event ourselves.

Thank you in advance for your support of this very worthy charity.

anyone else doing it this year??

do you have a downloadable print out explaining it all that i could show a sponsor... details of how much you'd expect to get a sticker on the car and how much the sticker itself would be... etc. etc. etc.

i know a fella that likes to sponsor... (last thing was a ladies netball team!!)

if i could show him something rather than waffle about it then that would be better!!
            I'll work on that one

On last years Mac challenge Rusty from this forum had a group of students from his local college do a short video of the event.
Here is a link to that video

My daughter lives in Herefordshire. Might trt and get down there to give you a send off. My wife ( Dee ) is in remission ( 1 Year ) so would like to give support. Don't know about company sponsorship but might be able to drag a few quid from the mates. Best of Luck.

I heard the start was on the Bulmers site, near Sainsburies....
Looking forward to seeing you/supporting - can we do anything to help? We are only 12 miles from Hereford.
Where do you get your fuel for the 1000 miles? Want me to see if www.longma.co.uk would be willing to donate in return for stickers etc?

Rick and I pay for the fuel and all other expenses unless some one says here is x amount to put towards your costs. The idea of getting longma to supply fuel would be great apart from the fact we are not allowed to carry spare fuel with us. If they would be interested in sponsoring us in any way I will be more than happy to have their details on the truck.

Thanks for the thought and your sponsorship.
