  • lifting kits??

    the project for the new year is a lift
    both ends seem to be sagging
    (parking next to Vagrant number 2 never helps)

    what is the differance beetween these two

    Roughtrax

    LA Supertrux

    both seem to be about the same price
    (once you add VAT)

    ordering in the morning
    anyone want to help fit them???
    (when i say help i mean do most of the work while i slope off for a smoke)
    if theres nothing in it i may even drive up to Daventry to pick it up

    Or give stuart of geared to go a ring(01937 835227) he recons he can supply procomp stuff cheaper than procomp and has helped a few on here allready.

      You can get lift kits from either of these places. If you do a search you might find the threads about me getting someone to make some as the coils you will buy with the kits will lift your back end by 2" but will not be uprated and will sag once a bag of shopping is put in the back. So intend on getting some made up that are uprated such like the standard milners uprated coils. It will take a little longer as im going to get some milners coils to get a standard height measurment since no one replyied to my requestes for standard heights and heights of surf's with the 2" lift coils added.

        We've had good results with Procomp rear coils, they're not all bad unless heavily abused. I still see trucks I fitted the kits to last year that still look 'pert'

        LA Supertrux don't sell procomp coils, they come from 'down under' last set I fitted were made by Beldon springs in Oz

                        (do Zuks hibernate??, i did have a Fiesta that turned into a Siesta must by the same kinda thing)

                        if i do ever get all this sorted out do i need to get the headlights reset???
                        9:45 with a hangover and i'm thinking about things like that
                        headlights may not be my biggest problem

                        So all thats left is sorting out what springs i need
                        also spotlights
                        (nice chrome ones with full and dipped beams, search button is to far away)

                        perhaps i should eat something and spend the rest of the day lying down

                          I have the ES3000 explorer shocks all round. And LC hdj80 rear coils that are down rated for a better ride. I also put balljoint spacers in the front but these are coming out because i cant get the suspension set up properly.....

                          Theres alot of ppl who want decent 2" lift coils. As milners only do uprated standard height coils at the moment.....

                            Looking at this thread
                            the height should be 22 inches
                            (center of hub to wheel arch)

                            mine is

                            F 20
                            R 18.5

                            so it looks like i have a long way to go up!!!!!!
                            still have not orderd anything yet as im still reading about rear springs!!!!!!

                            Dog_Book how did it go with your springs did you ever get the people to put an order in

                              I have just checked mine and I have
                              F=23.5"
                              R=23.5"

                              The rear should really be lower because if you look at the side of the truck the front wheel arch is higher up than the rear one
