  • Electric ariel problem

Can anyone tell me how to disconnect the power to the ariel.
I can hear the motor running but the ariel wont go up or down by it`s self.It moves if you give it a push but it`s getting annoying,so i was thinking of letting it go fully up and just disconnecting the motor so it`s up all the time.

I`ve tried the search option but did`nt find any answers.

    thanks

hi jack take the plastic cover from the wheel arch and you will find a connector for the ariel in there

If i remember its on the ariel motor but you get to it via the nearside front wheel arch 10mm socket removes the ariel
whats gone is the plastic teeth strip that runs inside the ariel
a new ariel from milners was £14 not sure if they are listed but ring and ask

Don't forget the forum shop sells new aerial masts too. To fit just undo the hex on top of the aerial base and get someone to switch on the radio and the whole thing will come out (with a little help from you). Note which way the teeth were facing when it came out and slide the new aerial strip in. Get someone to switch the radio off and the aerial will go down. Tighten the top and job done.
