Quicktime is evil too. Every time I have had it installed on my machine it makes everything else play up, I get bombarded with stupid promotional stuff from them and, and, and I hate it.

The alternative

does nothing like that
locks up now and then
but its a small price to pay

media player classic has no bells or whistles
never connects to the internet
never installs anything
is free
no forms to fill in
has no adds
no bundled software
plays movs,rams, (with the 2 alternative files)
DVDs,MP3s (but foobar is better)

plays it all

every home should have it

I have now uninstalled Realplayer. I saw the clip I needed to see, and after reading about spyware have uninstalled it.
