There isn't much info around for 3rd gen Surfs, but the US 4Runner of the same year can tow 5000lb (2250kg-ish) But your's will be heavier due to the deisel motor, so may be a little higher.

my rule of thumb is, as long as it doesn't look wrong and your confident that it'll drive ok, then go for it!
try toyota for the towing weights for a colorado of the same year... they're the same chassis and engine, just a bigger body on the LC... so that'll be your closest matchnee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!Comment
