The extension will be easy to repair with glass fibre kit and body filler from your local auto spares shop. (depending on your aptitude of course)
Get the paint code off the car and give someone like chips away a call when you have fixed it. They will paint it an exact match at your house. Will charge about 50 to 70 quid for the paint job.
I used them for a repair of a tailgate that had been keyed a year or so ago and the job was invisible
As long as there are not too many loose, crumbly bits, you should be able to repair it with stoppers. Take care rubbing it down. I find one of those fine grade wet or dry rubbing down sponges is best for me. I have invisibly repaired mine three times, so far. I must remember to stick those carpet off- cuts on the inside of the garage wall, for those little, "miscalculations."
