  • Do I really need the spare wheel cover?

    Afternoon,

Just toying with the idea of taking the spare wheel cover off to unveil a nice split-rim wheel with brand new bfgoodrich tyre, also cos the cover is from the origonal garage and I don't like advertising for other people!

is there any benefit to keeping it on or replacing it? or am I ok to leave it naked?

    cheers,

    Mart

The only problem with having it exposed, is the tyre will deteriorate over a period of time 'cos of the exposure to UV light.

not the old colour fight again!!

my burgundy one is nice and shiny until tomorrow when i'm going for a play on the farm.

Now back to the cover...I think i'll take it off then, and get some of that black stuff the showrooms put on tyres to make them shiny.

            if that's ok with everyone!

            cheers,

you really need one - makes it go faster as it stops the air flow coming over the roof and around and through the open centre of the tire.

What about getting a new black wheel cover with a photo of your spare on it.

Would you all just stop fighting about colour! it's winter now so for 2 thirds of the day it's dark, so no-one can the colour anyway!

Anyway, think I've answered my initial question, I took the cover off and realised there is of course no locking wheel nuts on it, then spent the next 10 mins fighting the blinking cover back on.

I'm off to search for how to fit brake discs and pads cos they're coming tomorrow.

                              cheers anyway,
