morning guys ,having trouble starting my surf, although now had for over 2 years, never as let me down, until last few days. have twin batterys on mine,
turning over fine but will not fire, new fuel filter, belts ,ll fluids changed through out in summer this year.
battery gauge showing only halfway, batterys are 800amps possible may be one down? also after reading thread last night, wonder if possible it is the heater plugs too.

has i have two batterys /looking into the engine, which is the main starting batt/ left or right side?, and is it possible to jump one off from the other? this for a later date reference? ta.ozzy

Unless you have an isolator installed both batteries are connected in parallel and both are used at all times.Check alternator output voltage and if ok check both batteries individually. One bad battery will destroy the other over time.

without doubt glow plugs, changed mine last week all were dead. starts instantly now. see my previous posts on the subject. Cost me 30 quid and starts first time even at minus 10 degrees.

      DO IT!

cheers al, will get some from milners then, still want to know which is the main battery though, or does it not matter.

          Hi
Batts connected together and both are equally involved in the starting process.

If yours is turning over well even in the cold you can forget the batts. They are fine.
