  • Tank Range!!!

    Hi All

Just finished my first week in my new toy! (93 2.4td ssr-x) One minor problem though, filled up tank, reset clock, reached 258 miles, fuel light on. Is this not a little short even for a big old truck??? Problem is I kind of told the missus it was a bit more economical than it appears to be

I feel now its only a matter of time..........

maybe if you add a big bottle of redex diesel treatment to your fuel tank this will help MPG i also found if i kept the auto box in power mode MPG was better but surfs are thirsty beasts but remember the grin factor !

250 miles is a good tank for me and I have new injectors recently fitted.

From full to quarter about 200 miles for me. I may be wrong but I think there were different size tanks fitted to the Surf. Mate at work has the same 3ltr as me but can do more miles from full to quarter but costs him more to fill so either different size tanks or one of our guages is well off

Best tank so far 346 miles to low fuel light, 54 litres in to brim (29 and a bit mpg).
Went to the NEC and back on Saturday, had to put fuel in on M40 to be sure of getting home - result 342 miles on 69.95 litres (22 and a bit mpg). This was hurtling up and back.
All figures brim full to brim full.

I am currently managing about three to four days... 900 to 950Km, then another £90 - £96 to fill it up again... ouch!
