  • Two Man Job??

    Evening to all,

I have read numerous threads regarding the servicing of the rear windoe mechanism. Many seem to suggest that this is a two man job, because of the need to support the rear window. Have any of you attempted this on your own? If so what is the best technique?
Would it be possible to servicr with the tailgate closed, and sit in the rear of the vehicle??
    Suggestions/advice, as always, very welcome.

Yes it is possible to get to some of it with the tailgate up if you climb in the back after doing up the window etc - done that myself. Otherwise its possible to rest the window on something if you can get it the right height (i.e. table or tressles or workmate with some pillows or sponge or something on the top) but I would be very careful.

As a short-arse I stood on a box and supported the window with my knee, after removing the door card and removing the polythene seal. Sprayed everything with grease and zipped it all back up. That was over two years ago.
      It's only a hobby!
