  • flying choppers

    had my first go in one on Sunday

    its one of those half hour flights where you get handed the stick and told to get on with it

    that was 3 in the afternoon sunday

    woke up an hour before the alarm still buzzzing

    you have all got to try this

    best birthday ever

    Even better is ride in a tiger moth and doing the full monty in aerobatics...

    Needed crow bar to get me out of the seat and was still grinning three weeks later
    Im not a gynacologist but ill have a look

      anyone remember the aerobatics show next to the 4x4 show last year?

      never seen anything like that!!

      i've got it on video somewhere... he was flying a plane vetical, hovering like a helicopter!
      nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!

        Thats what you call the tail slide Matt using the power of the engine to keep you up there, on the drop down towards the ground he kicks the rudder which then allows him to gain momentum again..

          but he was only about 100ft off the ground!... pointing up and travelling horizontal!

            The pilot uses the hand brake to get the tail to slide!

              I saw Brian Lecomber do this in the Pitts Special at Biggin Hill a few years ago - dropped it tail first for several hundred feet before kicking it over and recovering. You could hear 15,000 people stop holding their breath at once!

                  Was at the red bull air races in cashel in ireland this year. It was a wet day but the way the pilots flew those planes was unbelievable. up to 200mph about 25ft off the ground through inflatable plyons!!!
