Just finished lifting my girl 2".
started last night around 5pm (in the dark,cold wind & rain!!! ) and took around 3 hours including tea and tabs.
Bought 20% stiffer springs ( fitted earlier as asre end droped) then bought 2" spacers from 4crawler. (as well as headlight wiring upgrade kit - more later....)
fitted spacers and jacked up torsion bars to suit.
now have rim-to-fender clearence of 141/2" at rear and 14" at front.
I was advised no more than 14" at front due to future concerns with ADD system???.
anyway - heres some pictures. looking at he first two - the lift isn't all that apparent - so I've super inposed the before and after pics into one for comparison.

I bought the headlight upgrade loom from 4 crawler as my headlights were very dim - even after checking all connections and changing bulbs.
the kit contains everything, plugs,relays,resistor/diode control box, and took around an hour to fit. just removed from end grill/lights and wired it all in and clipped all cables neatly inside front bumper. no cutting off plugs required just "plug and play".
Wow ...what a difference. - its like turning the lights on!!!!!
would recommend to anyone who's dim!! (lights that is)

lift cost me around £100 all in.
but i now need to source a panard rod drop bracket - if i can find one!!

wiring loom was $30 from 4 crawler - I dont think i could have made one myself cheaper!!!

the spacers are a doddle to fit.
just jack up the rear via the axle, fit spring clamps to the already compressed springs. support the chassis and lower the axle down to slide out springs. fit spacers then jack up again to remove spring clamps and supports.
lower to the ground and grin over a cuppa and a tab!

I've tried tic tacs before - but they're a bugga to light and they're so small you burn your lips trying to take a draw!!!
it's the same with them nico-patchs - if you use one at a time - you can still see with your uncovered eye and find your ciggies!!!

Explorer Uk do the drop brackets. And i should be makeing some lift coils that give slightly more than what you have there as by the look of the pictures yuor truck only went up by an inch!! this is what happened to mine when i fitted +2" coils, trouble is they are not uprated so sag easy. Certainly looks better though.......

Oh yeah, and i was goining to say that your aproach was what i was just about to do....Milners %20 uprated with 2" spacers which theoretically would have been fine. But i did expect more lift than what is shown in your pic's. The rear axle seems not to just travel down but also swings forward, and i think its this thats causing a lack of direct lift. The springs ive now aksed for are -1" thatn the ones fitted to my Surf now. And i measured this at the angle which the spring sits (sort of bannana shape!!).

Still, your Surf does look better now
