timing belt light?

just put the smurf up 2 sale and this morn the timing belt light came on, the belt was changed months ago, i need to get it switched off as people won't beleave it's been changed, Yes i hav done a search on here but me not being machanically minded(i just drive it) i couldn't find any info on the 2.4 1992 it's mostly the 3l engine
any1 got a quick run down on how to get it off
please reply in english
i'l get my dad to do it so i'l pass all the technical stuff over 2 him

Hi Shelly, to reset it, you need to remove the little rubber bung next to to reset button on the speedo, then get a toothpick or a long match and push it through the hole and you will feel the T belt reset button just behind the rev counter. just push this and you will hear/feel it click.

If you have a small rubber grommit on the cover between your speedo and rev counter just pop it off and press the button beneath it.
