  • mounting electric winch to front bumper ??

im wanting to fit an electric winch to my ln130 and was wondering if anyone else has fitted one to theres and if it requires an aftermarket winch bumper or can it be mounted in a different way.

i havent bought the winch yet as im still looking for the best deal but i dont want to go ahead with a purchase unless i know exactly what else is needed to do this.

    any help appreciated

    Plenty of options,

You could fit a dedicated winch mount front bumper, ARB and TJM are two that spring to mind.

Or, you could fit a detachable winch cradle to the front chassis legs. This has the advantage that it can be adapted to use on the front or on the back of your surf.

Why not investigate a hydraulic winch, much more powerfull and doesn't kill the battery, just a bit slower if you go for the cheaper option of running it off of the power steering pump. http://www.4x4winches.com/

Whatever you go for it will need to well mounted unless you fancy launching it into the next county!
Parts of your engine go up, stop then go back! Mm!

        Winch

You could do what I did, and get an american sytle receiver hitch for the front (also have one on the back), Then you can take the winch of when not needed.

hehehe!!... what's the benefit of having a jerry can mounted on the front??... what if you forget it's there!!

have you seen the "bumper dumper" attatchment for a reciever hitch?
