  • Surf MPG

I am thinking about buying a Hilux surf.
Wanted opinions on the mpg of the different engines available.
    Which are most reliable?
Is there a particular model year/engine size that makes the best all rounder?
    Thanks.

Just got back from a 326mile round trip to Newcastle. Averaged just shy of 25mpg, mostly cruising along at 65ish. That's about the best return I've had, normally get around 22ish with mostly town driving.

just a thought but how do you test it over 100 miles?

how do you know you've filled it to the exact same level??

mine costs £7 a day to go to work and back!... if i put £15 in then i can get 2 days out of it and a trip to the pub!

£20 did me a trip to the pub, a trip into town (including road closed diversion) and 2 days works and back!!
