Courier cost is £10 anywhere including elgin.

Spoke to the guy again today and he will make the receivers and/ or towbars provided at least 4 are required, he measured mine today and will give a finished price on Tuesday.

                Hi Keith,
I have been saving pennies in the jar for a towbar and this might be the answer seeing as Christmas is just arounfd the corner and the jar will obviously get raided!

I am very interested, mail me if it looks like your man can do the honours.
                Cheers

OK I have just made a deal on a Surf, it is a 95 model but the last of the 2nd gen shapes. It is 3L auto SSR-X Limited. I got 2 years free service and MOT and 1 year 5 star RAC warranty and break down service, price £6500, was this a good deal ? his list price was £7995.

Anyway I do need a tow bar for it so I am interested, however what about the wiring ? Is this an easy job.

                    Cheers

Hard to say whether its easy or not, it does involve 7 wires and I dont know your limitations..........

Have you wired a 3 pin plug yet ? if not it would be a good place to start..

Just teasing it is not too difficult

I met a guy at a small engineering company today who makes custom towbars for Lamerovers etc.

He is prepared to make them for the surf ,, cost would be around £45-£50 per bar. if enough folk are interested

He will also fabricate front receiver bars

please let me know if you need one

                          Hi
He could do them for 3rd gen but would need one to clone, and as mine is a 2nd gen I cannot help out on that.

If anyone is local enough with a 3rd gen with towbar etc that he can measure up it would be appreciated
