How many are still looking for towbars ?

I met a guy at a small engineering company today who makes custom towbars for Lamerovers etc.

He is prepared to make them for the surf ,, cost would be around £45-£50 per bar. if enough folk are interested

He will also fabricate front receiver bars


please let me know if you need one

Whats a front receiver bar???

Kind of like a towbar for the front of the car.
Only it has a 2" square reciever that you can put a tow hitch or winch etc on.
I use mine for a front tow ball

where do it bolt too

I think its a tow bar with a seperate piece that comes off with the tow ball on it. Kieth has got one on the front of his Surf. I started to make one but I might even but one now. Good for positioning the trailers ect.

Holes are already on the chassis, usually with a guard attached, remove the guard put the bracket on and bolt through the guard using the same bolts to hold both

You need to get one on the back first......

the front towbar is brill for pushing boats down the slipway, or pushing a caravan up a tight drive

I noticed that nearly all rear tow bars were like that when I was in Oz on me holidays. For those of you who like me have scarred their shins for life on a fixed one, this will seem like a good idea! I suspect however that they're probably illegal in the UK, because they're sensible!!
