  • Just bought a Surf. Need a bit of help

I have just bought an LN130 2.4TD in burgundy colour.

I have a few questions, if someone could help please.

Is the "mileage" on the clock actually in kilometres or is it miles? Just wondering cos its an important.

Also, I need to do some repair work to it. I need to get a new left hand rear wheel arch extension and left hand rear bumper. Where is the best place to buy these online? I have seen roughtrax selling the wheel arch extensions but they are in a pack of 4 and I only need one and the bumper piece is only being sold in chrom but my burgundy sure doesn't have chrome bumper.

Does anyone have good solutions to the above? Many thanks in advance.

Rear bumper 1/4 are about £70+ VAT from
MILNER OFF ROAD or ROUGHTRAX SURF SPECIALISTS. They might be able to get extensions or someone here such as TonyN might have one on a breaker.

all depends if it's been converted to read miles or not... does it say Km or Miles??

best bet is to drive somewhere you know the distance and then see what it reads!

        Tony's not a guru... he's a very naughty boy!

Depends, does the clock face look original, there are 2 ways of altering the kph speedo, with a new face that has the mph markings in the right place, or a small gearbox/chip in the dash that leaves the speedo face original and alters the needle position so its correct.

If its the former, the odometer will still be in KM's and carry on reading in KM's if its the latter, it'll read in miles, and the importer usually winds back the odo to read the correct amount in miles (and sometimes goes back a little more as well!!! )

Thanks for all the replies people.

I've had a look on rought trax and they only sell the wheel fairs as a set of 4.
Would you recommend that I buy a set of 4, use one and sell the rest or should I use all 4 to replace the current flairs and then sell the original ones that came with the car? The reason that I ask is that I read somewhere that the ones on the car are a lot more expensive than the aftermarket ones.

I know of a nice chap in a little place called Leicestershire
He is breaking a 2.4 with the spair on the boot.
Mentioned that just in case this is the model you have.
Ande it is the proper colour for a surf, Burgundy!
              Do you want his number?
Just leave the turbo alone, TonyN has his eyes on that I think!

I have the 1992 2.4td burgundy surf (ln130). Could you please email me his number. Very grateful for this. many thanks.

doh. Just realised what you mean by spare on the boot. Yes, my surf has the wheel attached to the back door.
