While moving daughter No 2 I found a 3 CD box set, The Platters - Their Greatest Hits and Finest Performances. She hasn't a clue where it came from and said I could have it. I am listening to it now and it reminds me of lazy Sunday evenings at my late grandparents house, when they used to let me play records on their radiogram, which was a real treat because we weren't allowed to touch the one at home.

When I moved house I found a diary hidden under the eaves between the insulation and the roof - turns out it belonged to a girl who still lives in the village but she's about 30 now. It should have been X-rated (I couldn't put it down)!!!!
PS I never did tell her I'd read all her secrets

i bought my uncle a platters tape a while back... all christmas day he moaned that it wasn't the platters!!... miserable git!!... turned out it was the "new platters"...
that uncle died a painful death!
