  • What a waste of time and money!!!

I spent about 2 hours fitting a pair of 2" lift springs today, I was very dissapointed after mesuring it has only lifted 1/2". So in a month or so, when they have settled in the Lux will probably back to it's 12,1/2" hight that it was origanaly. Oh Well I only spent £107 and sumth'in quid!!!!

        Have a gold star. correctamondo!

Milners springs arn't lift springs, just uprated carrying cap, normal height.

Maybe you already had lift springs. Lots come from Japland with them on.

I've fitted LA Supertrux, Roughtrax and Procomp over the years, all gave neally 2" of lift, 1 1/2" is average after they've settled.

No the old ones were standard, they were a lot softer than the new ones and you can see that the new springs are made from thicker steel.

                Two words- SPRING SPACERS

A word from the wise- LA Supertrux +2" springs aren't. You'll need 2" spring spacers from 4Crawler as well to ACTUALLY lift the car up 2". Plenty of posts on the Forum from disapointed Surfers.

If they are advertised as +2" they should be +2" I would have thought.

I have 1995 Landcruiser HD80 rear springs on my truck, £44+vat from Milners, and Procomp es 3000 shocks. I've just measured the height from the ground to the wheelarch, 38". (31" mud tyres) Still have'nt adjusted the torsion bars yet though.......
I know this doesn't help you, but if you're after a good lift and a firm rear........

It was 34" 3/4 to the ground, but I have the normal 265/70/15 Dulers on, that are down to their last 4mm of tread.

So if you had 31" tyres, you would gain another inch ground clearance.
But I suppose it's the wheelarch clearance you're after.

I am planing on putting some 31" Khumo MT's on when the Dulers have worn down, but I am not going to bother changing the springs again!
