Underseal down south?

Had my surf six months now and desperate to get it dirty and wet but just realised that it hasn't been undersealed so does anyone know anywhere near Southampton/Portsmouth that does undersealing for a reasonable price?

Its an easy enough although very messy job to do yourself!

Hmm, sticky arms and a ruined drive last time I tried doing it!

If you have access to a compressor (hire shop?) you can buy Shultz from any car paint dealer. Depending on where in Soton you are, there's one in Lowford or one just on the Bitterne side of Northam bridge. Comes in 1 litre cans.

Just mask up the bodywork from the sills up and away you go!

Dont forget eye protection tho!

Besides, I've never done the Surf! (oops!) It was on a.... (ahem) LR years ago.

only buy 1 1l can.... buy a 5 litre cazn aswell, then refill the schutcz can... it'll work out a bit cheaper...

5l is about £17
1l is £4...

so you're saving £3... (not that most people will quarrel over £3!!)

you can get a waxoyl kit for about £20... it's a kind of pump spray like you use for weed killer... but i can't imagine it would give even coverage or be all that easy to use!

there's a specialist place in Newbury that does underseal... but he's expensive!!...


although he does take all day and add about 20l of waxoyl!!... so if you want a REAL proper job, then he's probably the bloke to see!

If Danno's not keen and theres a few of us we could pick up an old tarpauline or ground sheet from a tip or something to save trashing anyones drive and do them all in the same day.
