I'd better bring something constructive to this thread after my tongue-in-cheek comment above.
There is a fair amount of work in fitting a rear spare wheel carrier. The tailgate will have to be modded/changed and most importantly the o/s rear quarter has to be reinforced to take the weight of the wheel and bracket.
When I go for a new Surf I want one with the underslung spare. Moving the rear mounted one out of the way every time I want to go into the tailgate is ...................a pain in the rear!!It's only a hobby!Comment
