Front tyres

Hi ALL
At the moment I am in negotiation with my Insurers after my recent accident.
Could any one tell me if the tyres on the front should always be replaced in pairs. One of the tyres was damaged during the accident and the repairers are going to replace it. Does having a part worn and a new tyre on the same (front) axle lead to excessive wear on the diff ? I did a search but couldnt seem to find anything specific. Does anyone know what Toyotas reccomendations are on this ? Hope someone can help. Many thanks.

Whilst it shouldn't cause any problems to the diff etc (your diff is disconnected during normal 2wd operation), its always a good idea to replace tyres in pairs to ensure even braking, handling etc.
