New head No anything

Picked her up this morning, new head fitted and according to garage ready to go.
No power, kept cutting out and loads of black smoke so ive left the surf
with them and them scratching there heads.
Worried really worried
Should have got it to Stevo But unfortunatly he was away on his hols
Anyone got any ideas ?????????????????????

yeah, they've done something wrong!... is it just black smoke or is there a lot if hissing and spluttering?

I reckon it's the timing been set wrong, easy to do. Timing now too far retarded - loads of unburnt fuel as it isn't injected soon enough to fully burn and no power because not enough fuel is burnt. Other than that, could be the Turbo not cutting in - vacuum pipe not on or in the incorrect place, again inefficient burn as not enough air as it was expecting and no power cos no turbo.
