I had a head on collision Last year with a HGV+Various road signs (HGV Driver at fault!) The bonnet ended up about 2ft long, engine completely destoyed and truck totally written off.
Both air bags deployed and saved my life for sure. If you value your family or yourself one bit then lookafter them and get as safe as you can afford. But each to their own, depends on your priorities.
Having lost a very close friend in April this year in a car crash, It makes you look at things in whole new aspect (she was late 20's and had 3 kids) and died through no fault of her own, wrong place wrong time.
