  • Stickier that the most stickiest thing

I took my plastic bubble windshield thingies off last week cos 1. I hated them & 2. They got right in the way of my towing mirrors, put a line right thru the middle. Anyway the tape they used to seal the edges GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I tried everything, jetwash, soap, hairdrier, white spirit, nail varnish remover, PVA remover to get the ****** stuff off. I was contemplating sandbalsting it but was sure that even this would not defeat it. In the end I resorted to picking with finger nails and s****ing with an old credit card to get it off. AT LEAST 8HOURS it took. You will know me from now on, I'm the one with the ****** stumps for fingers.

Anyway. watch out on e-bay, they will be on there soon, just as soon as I've persuaded wify that it looks better without them and she realises they are NEVER going back on.
Parts of your engine go up, stop then go back! Mm!

I did this recently and had exactly the same problem. I tried every solvent I could think of to no avail.

Eventually I took it down to my local coach works who removed the adhesive in 10 mins using a drill with a rubber disc attachment. It literally just sheared the adhesive off leaving lovely shiny paint underneath. All in it cost me a tenner.

I used petrol, seemed to work pretty well but still took a while.
