noise when shutting tailgate

anyone had this on their 3rd gen surf :-

when i shut the tailgate there is a loud rattle. checked all the trim etc and thats all fine. is it known for the window mech to come loose and rattle.

please help

You sure its not the metalic sound of the stay that stops the doobury from going down too far?

The rams on my tailgate squeal when I open it, so you could have a similar problem.

is that with the window up or down?

if down, then it's the window itself rattling inside the tailgate.

when the window is up. i wouldnt shut the door with the window down. thats just asking for trouble as it would probably break especially if the misses "slams" the door.
