Old HiLux

Just a thought.

My Father is retiring in a few months. He has a bit of a smallholding up in the lake district, and in the past has borrowed my surf to move things up and down the fields, collect fenceposts etc. He also once managed to get it well stuck!

I was toying with the idea of buying him a tatty old Hi-Lux for his birthday/retirement present, so he can use it for these errands. It wouldn't matter if it was a bit past it, he is pretty mechanically handy, and showed me how to swap engines etc as a kid. However he wouldnt thank me if I got him a total lemon.

Anyone got anything going? A hilux, or open to other suggestions?

Hilux Bob had a pick up for sale last month . Not sure if he sold it . Still had MOT on it (somehow!). Check 'Surfs for Sale' section .

That 'cosmetically' was the kind of thing I had in mind, but the statement about 'lots of TLC' has me a bit worried.

I was looking more for 'mechanically sound but looks a total wreck'

Nonetheless I might check it out depending what else turns up.
