4 wheel drive problem

Hi can anyone help me, last night i thought i would put my surf into 4 wheel drive as it has not been used for a couple of month but after locking the front hubs(free wheel hubs fitted) and engaging 4 wheel drive when i pulled away the car started to pull to the right all the time and it was rather slugish when driving. There is no problem in 2 wheel drive only 4 wheel drive, can anyone help me please.

I hope you only tried the 4wd on loose ground or the system will get 'wound up' and start to pull steering and damage CV joints etc

Yes i did try this on the loose, but i dont think it is wind up.

PHEW I have just been out to try the 4 wheel drive agian and everything seems to be ok, thank god.
