Broke my electric aerial off....

...this morning on the way in to work on some overhanging branches. I want to disconect the thing anyway as I've never used the radio in three years (those band expander things don't work...). So- do I need to get to the back of the radio or can I disconect it elsewhere?

you can disconnect the plug in the wheel arch that goes in the arial but it's a pain in the bum to get to.
