Could anyone tell me what causes a hesitation/stutter in power after changing gear in my Jag (manual, V6) especially from 2nd to 3rd, please?

The garage managed to sort this problem after 3 return visits - still don't know what caused it (fuel something was mentioned) but it's running fine now.
