  • Bio Diesel

Found some in Liverpool today for 75p a litre. Surf was quieter and less smelly on the trip home to Worcester! Bargain!

Is there a map of where biodiesel is available in the UK, or a website showing the same?

    Hi apache,

Where was the biodiesel available in Liverpool please?

I go to Merseyside quite a lot so it might be interesting.

Prescot road, heading Liverpool direction about 500 yards past the old meat market on the left. Small independent filling station.

            Just a cautionary note here,

KEEP your receipts - if you get a stop for a tank dip the receipt will prove you are running on "Duty Paid" Veg oil, otherwise C&E could be a pain in the bum

                Hi All,

After seeing this thread I've just been down to Tesco to get some biodiesel for the first time, but for some reason it was 1p more than normal diesel!

                Most bizarre

Note that most of the oulets listed are not actually selling biodiesel. By definition biodiesel is a methyl ester based fuel, most of those listed are selling regular dinodiesel with a splash (5%) of biodiesel added, just enough under UK regs to be called Biodiesel but its very misleading.
Only those showing 100% bio or B100 are really selling 'proper' Biodiesel.

lucky for me the one down the road sells 100% in 25ltr drums, just hope hey reply to my email.
now hypothetical question; if you've bought some 100% bio diesel and were running with this mixed with dino and were to add some new veg oil would anybody, say for example HMC, be able to tell? hypothetical of course, wouldn't want to deprive mr brown of any more of my money.

I guess that the question was rhetorical, but the answer has to be: I can't see how they would know. Likewise, if you filled up with BioDiesel every so often so as to get a recent receipt, and the rest of the time put in your own veg oil...who would know? Or if you register as a BioDiesel producer, how do they know that you're declaring all of your BiodDiesel - even if they kept a track of your mileage, you could claim to be driving with normal diesel some of the time.

Can you make a decent saving ?
