  • Off-road insurance?

OK, this came up in an conversation with another 4x4 driver....

Most insurance policies have a clause along the lines of 'not insured for 4x4 driving'.

How does that relate to green laning? Green lanes are still classified as normal roads, so surely they are obliged to cover you whilst using a green lane (and indeed as they are normal roads, you have to have insurance)? I accept that they won't cover you whilst at an off road centre.

Any thoughts? Has anyone taken out a policy that explicitly does cover 4x4 driving?

hi slugsie we were having the same conversation a couple of weeks ago at a meet and someone was saying that they got cover from a company advertised on the L*** R**** club i think it may be on their web site if it helps but they had to send in 6 photo's and give details of any mods that have been done

Our A-plan insurance even covers damage done at offroad centers, like The Pit, Linda rang and asked them. As long your not competing, your OK.

Any insurance cover works on green lanes, they are public highways, thats why your allowed to drive on them.
