I dont know if any of you read my post in the old forum but I was telling a story of how my wifes leg was in plaster with a broken Achilles Tendon when I bought my Surf so I had exclusive rights behind the wheel .
Then the plaster came off and she started to drive the Surf .
Trouble was the brakes were so good that she decided she shouldnt drive her Fiesta because the brakes werent so good and braking would put a strain on her injury .
This meant that I ended up driving her 1.1L Fiesta the 80 miles round trip to and from work every day while the Surf was in the drive mostly in case she needed to nip down to the shops etc .
The day after I posted this sorry story, her achilles tendon broke again so its another 9 weeks in plaster .
Now I drive the Surf plenty.......to and from the hospital twice a day to visit her, driving the kids to friends and clubs, and to do the shopping! I feel like I've made a deal with the devil .
MORAL- DO NOT BEGRUDGE YOUR LOVED ONES THE USE OF YOUR SURF
    (IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY)

Luckily she doesn't read the forum

Love the new forum thanks to all concerned.

Sounds like you need to sign her up for a few dangerous sports!

I know the feeling, Shelley uses the 4Runner every day for work, so I only get to drive it at weekends when we go out. At least my other car is as fun to drive, if a little harder work.

I'm lucky. My wife hates driving the Surf - but then it's a bit slow compared to her A190 Merc, so I never have that argument.

Buy the wife a little sportscar then she won't want the Surf.

Mind you I had the same problem when I had a company car - a Ford Galaxy V6. It spent 3 months in the shop being fixed and I had a BMW 323 coupe. I actually only drove it twice in 3 months (from work and back to work to drop it off). I ended up driving my wifes Scorpio as she wouldn't let me have the BMW.

        Cheers

            price of love

When I got my surf something strange came over me it was a feeling I have never felt before when buying a car .It was LOVE ,no way was I gonna let Debra drive my baby so I had to fork out a few more grand to keep her happy! worth it though cos she does like brick walls when behind the wheel.

My mrs stares as far clear of the surf as she can cos it usually has a thick layer of sawdust and maccas wrappers scattered through it along with chop saws and sawstools :-) I also covered myself just in case she did like it( the odd ocassion she has driven me home in it cos I couldn't ) and got an alfa 156 gta to keep her happy , trouble is she can't keep me out of the alfa on the weekends!!

                Hi All

I'm pretty lucky in that respect,,I have 2 3.0ltr Surfs, and my Mrs. doesn't drive at all(never took a test) never wanted too. She does how ever like the surf so much that i had to buy a couple of Suzuki Samurai's just for the off roading bit.
Still i love her to bits and she looks good in the passenger seat.

                Cheers
