  • Help wanted from Cornish Surfers

    Hi folks
Denise and I are coming down to Cornwall for a week at the end of July/beginning of August to stay in the Helford area.
We quite fancy exploring the Helford River in a small boat, but as we are between boats at the moment, does anyone know where we can hire a suitable boat at reasonable cost?
I am thinking along the lines of a 3 or 4 metre inflatable or a dory. We could bring our own 4hp outboard if necessary.
Any suggestions or contact numbers would be gratefully received.
    Cheers
    Keith

Thanks for the website info Richard. I have tried them and their boats are much bigger than we need, with a comparable price tag!

There is a little boatyard at the end of the creek at Penrhyn, a bit of a 'steptoe and son' place but it seems to be the centre of activity for the little boat trade and there is bound to be a deal to be done. Otherwise the watersports centre on the Falmouth seafront is just along the quay from the maritime museum, I think they do hire.

Thanks Lomcevac - a little "Steptoe and Son" boatyard sounds just like my sort of place!!! Any idea what they are called so that I can give them a ring?
Richard - I'll get in contact nearer the time to try and arrange a meet.
                    Thanks for your help.

                    Regards
                    Keith
