Personal preference. If this is the first service you've done it might be worth running flushing oil through it this time, so you know it's reasonably clean before you put clean oil in it. I've used Castrol GTD Magnatec up to now but I'm going to run it on straight Castrol GTD from now on as the price difference is large and as I change the oil & filter every 3K miles it's not worthwhile paying the extra for Magnatec.

                            O.k.
                            She has been serviced
                            Oil,oil filter,fuel filter,air filter.
Still smoke on first start but this is normal (I’m told)
Took her for a good run yesterday near to the east coast (120 mile all round)
The only time i saw smoke through the mirrors was when accelerating from roundabouts and junctions, once up to speed (NO SMOKE)
Can anyone tell me if that is normal as this is my first diesel as you know and not sure really how they are supposed to run.
                            Thanks
                            kev.
