A while ago I wrote to my MP asking questions about the duty on LPG and BioDiesel. Today I received a reply from the Treasury - unfortunately they used snail mail and I don't have a scanner !
In summary it goes a bit like this:
The duty differential for LPG against conventional fuels will narrow by the equivalent of one penny per litre per year until 2007-08 effective 1 September when duty on conventional fuels will be increased in line with inflation by 1.22 pence per litre.
The duty differentials on biodiesel and bioethanol are guaranteed until at least 2008.
The rest of the two page letter was just flannel to cover the fact that they need a certain amount of income to run the country and they still intend to get it from the motorist - I reckon we can expect the duty on bio fuels to start going up in 2008 !
Anybody going to own up to voting for Mr B Liar and his Robin Bar-Steward cronies ?
