If you put your vehicle into a garage for a job which might take 3/4 days and leave it there, the garage are responsible if it gets broken into, right?

Yes they are . Duty of care for your vehicle . Keys should be out of vehicle and locked away and vehicle in secure parking , inside if possible .

I thought this was a thread about a car being broken into . Do I need to edit/delete my first reply ?
Noooo.
Just roll with it and see where it ends up, often these threads develop a life of their own, who knows where it will end up?
Dont kill it like a laborotory assistant killing an experiment that has developed a new direction, nurture it, take pride in your acheivement, and watch it grow.
Oh and yes, the garage is responsable for your vehicle, whilst in their care, their insurance will cover it, but they will do most anything to avoid claiming as their Premiums will go through the roof etc.
All the best of luck
