As a biofuel you'll be able to run without any modifications. Even veg oil, if diluted with a solvent (eg diesel), will run without mods. Read some of the threads on the forum and look at some of the links to how the diesel (or peanut oil) engine started. It makes you start to feel a bit sick that we could have been doing this for a hundred years were it not for the intervention of some greedy oil companies. The key here is a recognised initiative with a real financial and environmental incentive, which is a massive step.

Whats the big deal in getting it from Ireland? Tesco's veg oil works out under 6p/litre dearer. 6p X 1000 = £60. If you can ship 1000 litres from Ireland for less than that your'e on a winner!!!!!!!!!!!!

True, BUT find a store that will have warehouse space for 1000 litres, there is NO chance of finding that amound on the shelf !

Come to think about it, if you buy that in one go I HAVE to watch you push the flaming go anywhere (but where you want it to go) trolley
                      .

Official details of the scheme are here
Obviously they are looking for larger projects than individual users, the minimum project size for PPO being 50,000 litres, just a touch over my personal requirements of up to 2,000 litres per annum

I've applied to get mine as part of a wider project with eilish oils in Co. Wicklow

The scheme is due to start later this month. I was contacted by a supplier I previously inquired with and I've submitted my application to participate and buy PPO from them at €0.58 eurocents per liter. I'll have to travel to collect it and buy in bulk (or have it delivered in a 1000L cube).

I'll post more info as I get it (only found out this morning)

The outlook is hopefully good! But time will tell .....
