    hi tony,

    managed to fit rear diff on sunday it took all day taking time to give the new diff a lick of black hamerite for a nice finish. once completed took her out for a spin and all is great got rid of the problem that i had with old diff and also getting a better speed at 3000 rpm (about 68-70 ish instead of 60 mph) a lot better when on motorway!!!!

    the only thing that iam going to have to combat is the speedo reading the same as was before diff change.... any ideas to solve this problem???

    glad it worked out mate. You need a speedo adapter, can't find the link to the company ATM, but they make little gearboxes that plug into your t/case, then your speedo cable plugs into them. Have one on our grey truck to make the KPH speedo read in MPH without tearing the dash apart.

      right got home from work early today and thought i would make a start on front diff....
      well got both driveshafts off and removed bolts from propshaft...
      rang milners yesterday and ordered a full set of boots....(thought i would change them as i have to take both drive shafts out to do the job) anyway parcel with boots in was waiting for me when i got back from today didnt ring them until about 12:30 pm yesterday well done milners!!!
      so next chance i get i will remove the diff!!!!!

      p.s. there is no words that i can think of without swearing to explain how tight the drive shaft bolts were!!!!!!!!!!!

        Tight ain't they, normally call for 'foot against spanner' technique to get undone.

          right then i eventually removed the front diff after fighting with the mounting bolts for an hour the front one is a real nightmare...

          just one question up to yet?

          how do you get the flange off the diff the part with the bolts that connect to the drivshaft??? didnt want to start hitting it with a hammer and bust somet.....

            Its held in by a clip around the end of the shaft, two ply bars between the flange and the diff casing and a sharp yank and it should pop off.

              right eventually finished the front diff after having to drive out to milners to get a new snap ring as i broke one on the drive shaft when removing tried local toyota but couldnt get one till middle of next week!!!!!

              anyway started at about 1pm and finished at about 8pm took a long time but worth it in the end!!!!!!
